Capturing the Moments

We have soooo many pictures and videos on our phones. Cute moments when the kids got into the paint or when the middle one decided to wear his underwear on his head (who doesn’t have that shot?). I don’t have time to actually curate the photos so they just live in the cloud. Hundreds of thousands of photos. Sitting there gathering dust while I just get the bigger iPhone next time around just so I could look through them if I wanted (I don’t).

I wanted to do something different. Something meaningful to capture the essence of our family of five. Enter Make your Memory (MYM). Nick and Sara are owners of a small videography company operating out of Florida and Minnesota. We met Nick eight years ago when looking for a videographer to shoot my wedding in Stillwater, Minnesota. Nick seemed to get my vision and made the most beautiful video for us. It’s corny, but I rewatch that video every September on our anniversary to help me remember the day.

So last summer, Nick came over for a few hours and shot video of us being… well… us. Playing outside, going for bike rides, making dinner. Doing the things we always do in the summer. I asked him to add in one of my favorite quotes as a voice over. A month later he sent us the most beautiful video of a moment in time of our family.

Moment #1

There are too many things I love about this video. The kids’ smiles. The way the sun filters through the trees and bubbles. The little moments that are just unbelievably us. All of it adds up to a treasured memory, not only for me but hopefully for them too.

I can’t wait for Nick to come back in a few years to film another video for us. Something that captures who we are as a family with a 10, 8, and 5 year old.

To Nick and MYM - THANK YOU. All of our love. - Katie and Family
